Brownsville, a small town in Brooklyn, is slowly falling apart. Attacks by small gangs seeking money and power have destroyed many families' wealth, employment opportunities, and food availability.
Thora tries to hide and not be noticed, but Clinton High School isn’t the kind of school where you can go unnoticed. Thora would rather be locked somewhere far away than go to school, but she doesn’t really have a choice, does she?
Instead of friends she finds danger. Instead of family she finds herself.

Over the course of 2022, a select group of young writers was invited to take part in a year-long writing program at Story Factory. Their goal was to produce a fully realised novella. This is one of the novellas produced in these workshops.
