After the sudden loss of her sister, Ellie, Caroline navigates life in a world without the person she loved most. Shut inside the cold, lifeless walls of her hospital room. Completely cut off from the world, she is determined to stay away from the reality that completely shattered her. But the walls Caroline has carefully constructed gradually break down when a reckless and unpredictable stranger becomes entangled in her life. He pushes her to the limit. Pushes her to leave the box she has kept herself in and teaches her the importance of not only living, but also letting go.
As their connection deepens, Caroline faces the constant question of whether to let go or hold on. But when the boundaries blur, she must decide if this is her path to healing or to complete destruction.

Over the course of 2025, a select group of young writers was invited to take part in a year-long writing program at Story Factory. Their goal was to produce a fully realised novella. This is one of the novellas produced in these workshops.
