In 2024, Story Factory worked with students in three high schools, Cambridge Park High School, Prairiewood High School and Bonnyrigg High School to produce a collection of stories about place and belonging.
Over the course of two school terms, Story Factory storytellers and volunteers mentored a select group of Year 9 and 10 students from Prairiewood High School to explore notions of lived knowledge, familiarity, and home, and how they manifest in specific places.
The students were also guided by established poet Mawunyo Gbogbo and emerging author Miski Omar, who each shared their own stories and journeys, and offered advice to the students on process, practice, and purpose.
From fantasy prose to poetic memoir, the students' musings and individual approaches to storytelling demonstrate their highly personal connections to place. Their written words are proudly published in this book, Postcode Stories.
